As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be joining a team that ships reliable code fast and uses the latest frameworks and technologies to deliver an A+ experience.We are open to fully remote candidates within Australia or New Zealand.What you doTranslate application requirements, story boards and use cases into functional applicationsDesign, build, test and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable codeEnsure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applicationsIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issuesHelp maintain code quality, organization, and automationEnhance usability of our applications (UX / UI)What you bringThe ideal person for this role should have:Strong knowledge of JavascriptStrong knowledge of Typescript or any other strongly typed languageStrong knowledge of frontend frameworks such as ReactStrong knowledge of document and relational databases (DynamoDB, Postgres, Opensearch)Skill for writing reusable librariesFamiliar with various design and architectural patterns but mostly microservices architectureExperience with distributed systems and asynchronous event-based microservicesKnack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable codeUnderstanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable applicationExperience creating databases that represent and support business processesExperience implementing automated testing platforms and unit testsProficient understanding of code versioning tools such as GitExperience with Cloud Provider AWS (manage stacks, deployments, secrets, etc)A product mindset, constantly thinks about the customer and product to deliver the best possible outcomesBe a self-starter who is motivated and driven and passionate about what they doBe willing to always learn and embrace new technologies and ways of solving problemsAdditional experience in any of the below is highly desired:Demonstrated experience with AWS, especially AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB and API GatewayDesign and development experience in a microservices or serverless ecosystemExperience collaborating directly with designers to rapidly prototype ideasA solid understanding of UX fundamentalsPersonal Projects / Open Source Contributions and involvement with the broader developer communityWhat it's like working at OFXWe're OFXers because we want to make a difference.
