My client is an established startup that combines 20 years of business consulting experience with a team of technology specialists focusing on BI, Analytics & Cloud Platform solutions for the Built Environment (ByltInsyte), Manufacturing, and Zero Emissions projects. My client is based in the Shoreditch technology hub and works with clients in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The role: As my client's platforms and solutions become larger and more complex, they are keen to bring someone into the team with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience developing, testing, and deploying production backend software.
In this role, you can expect to spend 50% of your time hands-on developing code across my client's core platforms, with the remaining 50% spent supporting and mentoring their development team and helping them implement robust practices for agile development, review, testing, and deployment.
My client is an entrepreneurial team with varying levels of experience but a consistently high level of passion and desire to learn, develop, and deliver great solutions to their clients. They would like to introduce good standards and work practices without stifling the enthusiasm and creativity that has got them to their current position.
Their platforms largely follow a microservices architecture, and all my client's development is in Python with FastAPI as their primary API technology. They work with a frontend development partner for all things React.
They currently use Azure exclusively and utilise a range of services with database technologies including MongoDB (CosmosDB), MS SQL, and DataBricks. They use GitLab for versioning and CICD, and Jira for development management.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS: You will:
Have a degree relevant to the role, e.g., Computer Science. Have at least 5 years of commercial development experience with Python. Have practical experience with the majority of the technologies listed above. Have experience working with a microservices architecture. Be highly proficient in developing well-structured, modular, and tested code cases. Have experience in the deployment of large-scale cloud solutions. Incorporate security best practices with a focus on software durability. Have a pragmatic view on how to implement robust practices into their organisation. Be a team player and work collaboratively. Be a mentor and be passionate about sharing your knowledge with their developing team. Have good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
