Our Northern Territory based client is seeking a Senior SOA Specialist (Middleware) who will work within the Mainframe Technical Services team. The Technical Services team has 16 specialist staff providing mainframe systems programming, DB2 database administration, enterprise storage, middleware and product support services for the NTG's mainframe application hosting environment.
12-month contract with late January start. This role is based in Darwin and hybrid working is an option for this role. Key Responsibilities:Be fully accountable for meeting allocated technical and/or project/supervisory objectives.Establish milestones and have a significant role in the delegation of responsibilities.Perform an extensive range and variety of complex technical and/or professional work activities.Undertake work which requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts.Advise on the available standards, methods, tools and applications and make appropriate choices from alternatives.Demonstrate leadership, well developed communication and negotiation skills, the ability to influence key stakeholders and achieve a collaborative approach to the delivery of outcomes.Maintain high level performance and manage pressure in an environment of substantial change and modify approaches to suit changing stakeholder requirements.Take initiative to keep skills up to date and maintain an awareness of developments within the industry.Have the capacity to be creative and innovative and think both independently and laterally with a focus on continuous improvement.Participate in project development and implementation.Participate in a 24-hour call-out roster and attend out-of-hours work as required.Skills & Experience:Demonstrated experience providing Integration services using IBM technologies MQSeries and IBM Integration Bus.Ability to demonstrate an understanding of and experience with a Service Oriented Architecture style of software design.Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of and experience with IBM mainframes, including JCL, System Symbols and SMP/E.Demonstrated working knowledge of C, C++ on IBM Mainframe, Windows and Linux.Demonstrated working knowledge of C# and .NET.Demonstrated working knowledge of IBM Enterprise COBOL on z/OS.Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, a broad range of middleware products including associated administration, performance, monitoring, automation and recovery tools.Knowledge of other middleware products and how they can be utilised and incorporated into an Enterprise environment.Development of IBM Integration Bus flows and MQSeries programs.Knowledge of and experience in working with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM zCX environments.Demonstrated expert knowledge and experience in establishing and maintaining complex enterprise message transportation and transformation environments covering various platforms, operating systems and security.Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people of diverse cultures.Ability to resolve complex technical problems using a combination of in-house staff, external service providers and vendors.Ability to develop and maintain Technical Architectural, Design and operational support documentation to ensure the efficient knowledge capture for the effective and efficient management and delivery of Integration services.Clearance Requirements:National Police Clearance
