Senior Settlements Specialist / Manager

The role

Our client, a national well-known Utilities organisation is seeking a detail-oriented Settlements Specialist to manage the efficient processing of financial transactions, ensuring compliance and timely settlements as well implementing best practices and procedures in relation to settlement operations for the business.
Key Responsibilities
Wholesale trading settlements - Manage the settlements function to ensure all transactions are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner. This includes: back office verification of energy deal entry, timely preparation and verification of all material settlement amounts, timely reconciliation and settlement of all energy related weekly/monthly settlements, reconciliation of supporting data, and ongoing management of all associated settlement systems and validation models.AEMO prudential and ASX margining - Manage the calculation, forecast and execution of AEMO prudential requirements for retail operations and assistance with the validation of ASX margining.Compliance - Identify, review and monitor operational risks in the settlements function to ensure identified risks are adequately communicated and resolved in a timely manner. Implementation and documentation of internal controls to ensure risks are mitigated and are not recurring.Development of Systems and Procedures - Direct the ongoing assessment and development of systems, processes and procedures to manage the various settlement activities. Ensure all processes and procedures are adhered to and documented accordingly. Involvement and participation in structured project work impacting the settlements function and ad-hoc initiatives.Relationship management - Ensure a high level of customer service, communication and professionalism is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders at all times.Key Requirements: 5+ years of experience in a senior settlements and financial operations position.Strong understanding of financial markets and settlement processes.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of financial systems is a plus.Tertiary qualifications in finance or a related field are preferred.Why Join Us?
