In this role, you'll provide top-notch technical support, carry out preventive maintenance, and repair a range of analytical laboratory instruments. Position Details Location : Hawarden, with possible travel to other ALS sites in the UK and Europe. Work Hours : 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Employment Type : Full-time, Permanent. Key Responsibilities Conduct preventative maintenance , fault diagnosis , and repairs on laboratory equipment. Respond promptly and professionally to service requests. Collaborate with the Analytical Service Engineering Team to ensure high-quality support to laboratories. Manage spare parts inventory efficiently. Required Qualifications and Skills An HND or higher in Chemistry , Engineering , or a related Scientific Field. Candidates without formal qualifications but with significant Field Service Engineering experience (especially with instrument vendors) will also be considered. Experience with specific vendors like Agilent, Thermo, Waters, Varian, Dionex, and Skalar , and proficiency in handling instruments such as GC/FID/MS, LC/MS-MS, ICP/MS/OES, and other analytical tools. Previous experience as a Service Engineer, Test Engineer, or in a Technical Support role. Experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Laboratory field is advantageous. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and maintain quality output. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to interact across various levels. Competence in IT and instrument vendor software is beneficial. Willingness to travel within the UK for business purposes. An eagerness to learn new skills and participate in training programs.
