As our new Senior Secondary Design Engineer – Substations based in Sydney, you'll play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that 'bring ideas to life' for our clients. Working within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals based in Sydney on a wide variety of projects of our Energy & Industrial service group, getting exposure to varied and challenging projects locally in Sydney and across Australia.
Your role will include: Conduct, lead, review and verify detail designs and technical reports for the client, including substation secondary systems.Lead and deliver the concept to detailed Design of substation Secondary systems.Secondary systems design – produce SLDs, substation layouts, equipment/materials lists, clearance checks, and short circuit force calculations.Understand the critical technical aspects of projects, implementation, and integration for complex systems.Key areas of focus include transmission and distribution substations' secondary systems electrical design, encompassing protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, protection and control room layout.Ensure the project is delivered on time and budget.Undertake site inspections and associated reporting.Liaise with clients and contractors in relation to project objectives and targets on technical issues and problem resolution.How will your future be shaped by us? What are we looking for from you? Bachelor degree qualification in electrical (or related) engineering.5-10 years experience in substation secondary design, preferably in a consulting environment.Knowledge of the transmission and distribution industry, standards, and codes in Australia and/or design experience with Australian electrical utilities.Strong electrical design skills; in particularly secondary systems and substations.Proficiency in offering solutions to technical challenges. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including effective influencing, motivation, and delegation skills.Ability to work well with others to deliver as a team.Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Inquisitive nature and desire to grow your career.You'll have a genuine passion for re-imagining problems and continuous learning to help shape the future.
