About the role
The Scientist is responsible for delivering the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on wetland frogs in iconic wetlands of the Murray-Darling Basin. The role involves computer-based data preparation, data processing, data management and statistical analysis; field work; interpreting results, and the preparation of technical reports and other information products to communicate outcomes to both expert and non-expert audiences.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated, hardworking individual to fill this temporary position and drive the delivery of the wetland fauna workstream of our monitoring, evaluation and reporting program. We would like to hear from experienced scientists with demonstrated experience in undertaking waterbird and frog wetland surveys, successfully managing large programs, stakeholder relationships and delivering rigorous science. You will also have extensive experience planning collaborative field trips with other internal and external staff, and willing to travel for field trips to the Murray Darling Basin. Experience with 4WD essential, and other field vehicles preferred but not essential.
Key knowledge and experience:
Knowledge and experience in the delivery of large-scale wetland monitoring-related projects, including planning, delivery and budget-related oversight.
Experience in land manager/owner/stakeholder consultation to facilitate environmental program delivery.
Demonstrated experience in producing research publications or advanced technical scientific reports relating to applied wildlife ecology of Australian wetland fauna.
