About the Position Girton Grammar School is seeking a part-time or full-time Sociology / Humanities Teacher to develop and deliver high-quality lessons to maintain and build on our academic success. The Sociology teacher will deeply understand current research-based pedagogies and have a proven ability to apply them to a Humanities curriculum. The Sociology teacher will design rigorous and robust curriculum that embeds cognitive load theory, explicit instruction, and the Science of Learning.
It is also expected that the Sociology teacher has a proven ability to write and deliver outstanding Sociology and Humanities curriculum. We are looking for an educator who can work in a supportive, collaborative environment to write and deliver explicit lessons that will give students access to their preferred futures.
Your primary responsibility will be teaching Sociology across VCE, helping students understand societal structures, human behaviour, and social issues. You will engage students in critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, fostering a deep understanding of the subject and its real-world applications.
