Bowen Coking Coal is a publicly listed organisation based in Brisbane and is quickly becoming the Bowen Basin's next independent producer of high-quality metallurgical coal to supply the steel industry worldwide.

The role:

The Senior Safety and Training Advisor is a permanent role based on site at Burton Mine. We are looking for a candidate who has a strong background in safety and training systems. Roster for the position is 8 days on 6 days off. The role has a back to back and also reports to an experienced HSE Superintendent. 

Day to day responsibilities may include:
Risk Management - e.g hazard identification, facilitating risk assessments Compliance & regulations - e.g audits and inspections SOP's - development and review  Training & Development & Incident Management Reporting  Qualifications and experience required: Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an HSE Advisor in the Coal mining industry. Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or a relevant qualification. Strong understanding of Queensland coal mine safety and health legislation and regulations. Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and auditing. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
