About the role: Reporting to the Lubricants National Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Safety Specialist is responsible for the delivery of safety support to the AMPOL Lubricants department by providing subject matter expertise to frontline supervisors and workers to support the safe delivery of work.
The role works across production, maintenance, warehouse and logistics leading the implementation of safety improvement programs, incident investigation, reviews and driving preventative strategies across the Lubricants Business.
Key responsibilities: Ensure safety expectations are always understood and supporting solutions are delivered to (and beyond) stakeholder expectation. Proactively seek feedback from customers and stakeholders to ensure that services are meeting requirements. Use skill and judgement to influence key stakeholders to arrive at a best for business outcome. Influence key stakeholders where opportunities exist to improve operating and management practices. Ensure safe systems of work and work practices are embedded and understood. Maintain an accurate and current knowledge of the relevant legislation keeping abreast of any regulatory reform. Provide expert advice and coach line management on safety related matters. Implement safety improvement strategies as required. Provide comprehensive investigation/audit reports with appropriate recommendations for system improvement and/or recommendations for further investigation. Maintain Lytton Lubricants Security Management plan and be site key contact for security related activities. About you: You are a team player with a positive can-do attitude able to communicate effectively, develop networks and build diverse teams across all levels with background in a Manufacturing environment in a HSE capacity.
Key skills and experience: Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent) Cert IV in Training and Assessment Technical Working knowledge of the WHS Act, WHS Regulations and associated Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. Demonstrated hands on approach and management of WHS. Good communication, IT and facilitation skills. Ability to write quality reports, procedures, and presentations.
