Downer Rail and Transit Systems (RTS) is excited to be looking for a Senior Safety Assurance Engineer to welcome into our Engineering & Technology Team.
This is due to an increased workload from recent project wins.

The Senior Safety Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring our Zero Harm values are adhered to, and that we remain compliant to system safety, regulatory and customer requirements.
Working within the Engineering & Technology team, you will have a network of experienced SMEs available to support you, and as such this role may suit someone with a rollingstock background, or similar.
This role will focus on our exciting collaboration project with Fortescue Zero to jointly design and develop a Battery Electric Locomotive (BEL). The proposed heavy haul rail solution has the potential to help our partners achieve their 2030 decarbonisation goals, as well as other heavy emitters globally!
This is a fulltime, permanent role, and can be based in our Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth offices.
