The position contributes to and positively influences the reduction of farm work related death, injury and disease.
It raises awareness of farm safety issues by encouraging and leading positive farm safety discussions throughout Tasmania's farming communities, to improve the health and safety performance of the farming sector in line with the strategic objectives of WorkSafe Tasmania and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania.

DutiesImprove the health and safety performance of Tasmania's agricultural sector, including farm owners, managers and workers, and in general, raise awareness of farm safety issues by encouraging positive farm safety discussions.Produce and disseminate meaningful, relevant, and accurate information and resources about farm safety.Provide technical advice, information and educational material to industry stakeholders on emerging farm safety issues.Attend Tasmanian farms, farm related businesses, and farming communities to provide high level advice and guidance on farm safety issues.Promote farm safety at rural gatherings (including presentations and displays in partnership with rural organisations and representative bodies) and attending these gatherings to encourage positive farm safety discussions and generally promote farm safety improvements.Present on farm safety issues at meetings and gatherings of industry groups, organisations, and workers.Promote to stakeholders the availability of existing farm safety resources, and further opportunities for promoting farm safety.Identify and develop (in consultation with key stakeholders) resources designed to promote and enhance improved safety outcomes.Relevant agricultural knowledge and experience.Tertiary qualifications and industry experience in the field of work health and safety or related disciplines.Application ProcessTo apply, please provide a Short Form Application which is a 1-2 page covering letter outlining your experience, skills and knowledge as they relate to the Statement of Duties, and a copy of your current Resumé/CV.
