What's the opportunity? The Senior Risk & Resiliency Specialist reports to the Enterprise Risk & Compliance Lead and will lead and manage Telstra Health's enterprise risk and resiliency activities. This includes the risk management framework and practices, crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response processes to ensure we stay ahead in a constantly changing environment. By effectively mitigating risks and enhancing resiliency, this role directly supports our commitment to providing a secure and seamless digital health experience for all stakeholders.
About the role: The Senior Risk & Resiliency Specialist plays a pivotal role in advancing Telstra Health's risk management and compliance culture. This position focuses on implementing the three lines of Defence model, managing enterprise risk processes, and fostering a proactive risk management environment. The key accountabilities include:
Development and Maturity of Risk Management Assist the Enterprise Risk & Compliance Lead to drive the development and maturity of the 3 lines of defence model across Telstra Health, aligning with company strategy to drive maturity in Risk and Compliance management and culture. Manage and promote Telstra Health's enterprise risk management process for identifying, assessing, and mitigating global risks. Monitoring, Improvement, and Framework Implementation Monitor current developments in risk management practices and drive improvements to enhance the maturity of Telstra Health's Risk Management culture, program, and policies. Drive the implementation and ongoing maintenance of a current and documented Risk Management Framework that is optimised for ease of administration and effectiveness. Support, Training, and Workshops Assist in leading the implementation and embedment of initiatives to ensure sustainable risk practices, including providing information, training, advice, and tools to the first line of defence to assist them in identifying, managing, and monitoring risks. Lead risk workshops at the organisational-wide and business unit levels. Monitoring and Reporting Manage and monitor Telstra Health's business resilience and crisis management programs, ensuring their effectiveness through regular testing. Perform regular incident reporting, including clinical incidents, and provide this information to key Telstra Health stakeholders. Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement Lead, coach, and manage the direct report (Risk & Resiliency Specialist) as part of their day-to-day activities and professional development. Develop and maintain trusted and effective working relationships with executive stakeholders. About you: 5+ years' experience in managing a risk second function focused on advising executive stakeholders on key strategic and operational risk and the control environment. Degree or equivalent experience in risk, governance or similar. Extensive experience in risk management, including sound understanding and ability to operate within Risk and Compliance Frameworks and Policies, including the ability to consider risk strategically. Experience in crisis management, security, and business continuity planning. Experience in developing and reviewing a range of Framework and Policy documents. Strong judgment, integrity, and a collaborative mindset. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Exceptional communication and influencing skills at executive and board levels. Desirable: Experience working in a clinical environment.
