As a Senior Risk Manager at FNZ Australia, you will play a critical role within the Risk and Compliance team, sitting within the second line of defence to shape and enhance FNZ's risk and compliance framework. This position provides vital insights and oversight, ensuring accurate and relevant management information (MI) is available to support informed, risk-based decisions across the business. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior Risk Manager will support governance committees, deliver risk and compliance expertise on strategic projects, and drive initiatives to safeguard FNZ's reputation and integrity. This role is essential in promoting a culture of accountability, guiding stakeholders in effectively implementing FNZ's Group Risk Management Framework, and anticipating potential regulatory challenges.

In addition to leading risk assessment and reporting activities, the Senior Risk Manager will develop and refine the organisation's risk management framework, conduct market risk analysis, and oversee second line of defense reporting for clients and the Board. Collaboration is key, as this role requires working closely with senior management, compliance teams, and various internal and external stakeholders to embed a robust risk and compliance culture across FNZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, deep regulatory knowledge, and exceptional communication skills, allowing them to effectively convey complex risk concepts to diverse audiences and drive continuous improvement within FNZ's risk and compliance functions.

The responsibilities will include:

Identify, assess, and prioritise risks across the organisation, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.Develop and implement monitoring processes to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and internal policies.Provide ongoing training to staff on risk and compliance standards, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.Conduct regular performance reviews for team members, focusing on individual contributions to compliance objectives.Design, review, and update policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes and best practices.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote a strong risk and compliance culture and ensure effective communication.Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and governance bodies, highlighting key issues and recommendations.Encourage a proactive approach to continuous improvement in risk and compliance processes, leveraging feedback and lessons learned.Foster a supportive team environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages collaboration in achieving compliance goals.

What are we ideally looking for in a successful candidate?5 + years of proven experience in a risk management role.Experience within the Australian Financial Services industry, Wealth Management or Superannuation environment required.Knowledge of Platform/Wrap offerings including Superannuation, IDPS/IDPS-like, SMA & MDA is preferred.Strong understanding of regulatory obligations and best practices in risk and compliance.Relevant industry certifications in risk management, compliance, or a related field.Ability to convey complex risk concepts to diverse audiences, with a knack for clear and effective reporting.Proven track record of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.A proactive approach to managing workload and driving risk management initiatives.Flexible and responsive to changing priorities, with a positive attitude towards new challenges.
