RAC Insurance is seeking a Senior Risk & Compliance Specialist to drive excellence in risk management and compliance, supporting our mission to safeguard and empower our members.
This is a newly created role within our Claims team.
About the Role
As the Senior Risk & Compliance Specialist, you'll play a vital role in strengthening RAC Insurance's risk and compliance framework.
This role involves working closely with business leaders and accountable managers, ensuring that risk mitigation strategies align with RAC's risk appetite and regulatory standards.
From strategic risk reviews to compliance guidance on process changes, you will support a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Assist senior leaders in understanding their responsibilities and developing effective risk management strategies.Facilitate strategic and operational risk reviews, monitoring key risk indicators, and providing insights and recommendations.Partner with risk and control owners to design and test control effectiveness, ensuring a resilient control environment.Review compliance documents, training materials, and processes to ensure alignment with regulatory obligations.Identify regulatory changes and support initiatives to maintain ongoing compliance, including response coordination with regulators.Educate and guide stakeholders on risk management responsibilities, fostering a culture of strong risk practices.Support risk and compliance reporting to executive committees and the board, ensuring visibility of key risk areas.What we are looking for: Proven experience in risk and compliance, ideally in insurance or financial services.Familiarity with APRA Prudential Standards, ASIC guidelines, and the General Insurance Code of Practice is highly valued.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels.Tertiary qualifications in insurance, financial services, risk management, or a related field are desirable.What can we offer you?
