(Pro Rata) MeS3Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Flinders Medical Centre - Respiratory and Sleep ServicesJoin our experienced and professional Respiratory Team as a Senior Medical Scientist!The SALHN Respiratory Function Laboratories (RFL) provides high quality diagnostic respiratory measurements to patients referred to the SALHN Respiratory and Sleep Services. In addition, the RFL provides respiratory physiology education and training to a range of SALHN employees including respiratory scientists, nursing, medical students, junior medical staff and respiratory advanced trainees.About the role:Your duties will include:Managing workloads and resources to ensure an efficient and effective serviceAssessing and reviewing the work standards of scientific staff to ensure that relevant processes and procedures are followed appropriatelyMonitoring and maintaining equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy of testing including recognising equipment and system issues, troubleshooting and implementing effective solutionsEnsuring clinical reports are technically accurate, comprehensive and distributed in a timely mannerAbout you:To be successful in this role, you will need:Extensive experience in respiratory physiology and measurementsDemonstrated expertise in teaching, and education particularly in respiratory physiology and measurementsExperience in a physiology laboratory environmentAbility to teach new concepts and impart knowledge to other staffPlease see the attached Role Description for additional information.Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and Immunisation compliance as indicated on the Role description.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are encouraged to apply.
