Senior Respiratory Scientist Who are we? At North Brisbane Sleep & Thoracic, we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive respiratory and sleep service. With Specialist Thoracic Physician consultations and advanced Respiratory and Sleep investigations, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a part-time Senior Respiratory Scientist.
Responsibilities include: Conducting a range of pulmonary function tests, including spirometry, DLCO, body plethysmography, FeNO, and 6-minute walk testing.Ensuring that all practices and procedures adhere to the guidelines set forth by the American Thoracic Society (ATS), European Respiratory Society (ERS), and Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ).Staying up to date on advances in respiratory science and updating documentation accordingly. Ensuring routine quality control testing is conducted to maintain high quality data output. Organizing troubleshooting of software issues, liaising with Vyaire and other respiratory or IT suppliers used by NBST. Providing guidance and support to other staff members and fostering a positive learning environment within the respiratory team. Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and practice efficiency. Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with NBST privacy regulations Facilitating new employee training and reviewing performanceWorking alongside the senior sleep scientist to manage ordering of respiratory/sleep stock and consumables. Mandatory requirements: A qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher) in science or a related fieldPrevious hands-on experience conducting lung function tests on patients. Thorough understanding of ATS/ERS technical standards. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work autonomously Availability: 3 days per week (8:30am – 4:30pm).
Ability to work at both North Lakes and Clayfield clinics, if required.
