Globe 24-7, in partnership with our client - a leading Global Tier 1 mining company - has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Resource Development Geologist to join a mining operation based overseas.
This is an expat FIFO role from Australia.
The Role
The primary purpose of the Senior Resource Geologist is to identify and lead resource definition and exploration projects within the company and surrounding exploration tenure.
The objective is to delineate and discover new, economically viable gold prospects that will significantly impact the company's earnings and growth, while ensuring that all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the company's core values.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and security policies.
Keep management informed on geological, technical, safety, and environmental issues.
Oversee logistics, field activities, and general administration.
Manage logistics for effective drilling and field operations.
Implement approved programs in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Ensure programs focus on discovery and the Life of Mine (LOM) strategy.
Keep the Mineral Resources Manager and Mine Management informed on all relevant geological, technical, safety, and environmental issues.
Manage logistics to achieve effective drilling within underground (UG), open pit (OP), and field operations.
Oversee the operational functions of logistics, field activities, and general administration.
The Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Geology, or related field Geological mapping and logging Geological interpretation skills Sound knowledge of sampling practices and theory Management of all technical aspects of drilling programs Basic understanding of geotechnical and metallurgical processes Strong geological interpretive skills and understanding of mineralization models Understanding of economic parameters and integration skills for multi-disciplinary datasets Ability to develop 3D geological interpretations/models using Datamine/Leapfrog Intermediate/advanced 3D Datamine/Minesight skills for evaluating targets with digital data
