Shoalhaven Hospital is a busy rural hospital which employs over 1,000 staff and is the main acute care hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services. Shoalhaven Hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on high dependency and coronary patients, Children's Ward and Maternity Unit as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre and sub-acute Mental Health Unit.
What you'll be doing To provide effective, timely and safe medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in paediatric medical practice in a complex clinical environment. The SRMO will, under supervision, assess and manage the care of infants and children in the Neonatal Unit, Children's Ward, Paediatric Assessment Unit and Emergency Department. At all times during normal working hours, and after hours, the Senior Resident Medical Officer will have a more senior doctor on site available to help.
The position is particularly suited to trainees planning a career in General Practice or Paediatrics.
Minimum Requirements MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia Completion of at least two years postgraduate experience Demonstrated effective communication skills, clinical skills, judgment and expertise, teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in the clinical setting Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management Demonstrated experience and willingness to participate in clinical governance activities to ensure a clinically safe environment Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills Need more information?
