Where you will be working:
Critical Care Medicine – Senior Resident Medical Officer – Wyong Hospital
This Critical Care SRMO will spend 2 terms with Wyong Intensive Care Unit, 2 terms with Wyong Emergency Department and 1 term with Gosford Anaesthetics.
Wyong based position have an exceptional track record of progressing to advanced training in their preferred specialty.
CCLHD Intensive Care Services
Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the Central Coast, with over 500 inpatient beds and 24/7 access to the emergency department and operating theatres. A recent $368 million dollar redevelopment delivered a new emergency department, ICU, nuclear medicine facility, special care nursery and expanded medical imaging service. The new Intensive Care Unit at Gosford Hospital opened in 2019 and has 24 physical bed space with 14 funded beds and the capacity to ventilate 11 patients.
Wyong Hospital is an acute major metropolitan hospital with over 300 beds providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services to residents in the northern region of the Central Coast. A recent $200 million expansion delivered a new emergency department, ICU, paediatric unit, inpatient wards, theatres and expanded medical imaging services.
Minimum Requirements:
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.Completion of at least two postgraduate years working as a medical officer with demonstrated competence.Demonstrated an interest in Critical Care Medicine. Willingness to learn a range of invasive therapies.Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.Demonstrated time management and problem solving skills, along with evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.Demonstration of leadership or initiative in either clinical or non-clinical setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
