Great channels of development within a private hospital and educational domain.Attractive salary package, relative to appointment levelFull time, fixed term ending 1 February 2026Macquarie University (North Ryde) locationThe RoleMQ Health is seeking a Senior Resident Medical Officer (PGY3) to join our Doctors in Training Program to provide clinical services and participate in the teaching and research environment of MQ Health.The program has potential rotations through Urology, ENT / Ophthalmology, Cardiothoracic / Vascular, Neurosurgery, and Orthopaedics.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:Be mentored and work alongside experienced clinicians in a diverse spectrum of Medical and Surgical specialtiesCollaborate with groups across MQ Health to participate in research projectsBe exposed to a wide range of clinical conditions, and treatment for these, including advanced procedural interventionsAttend theatre and further develop surgical skills with dedicated in-house training facilitiesBe educated and supported by advanced subspecialty registrars and fellowsSupervise and train students and other Doctors in TrainingContribute to educational activities with MQ HealthParticipate in the hospital's Code Blue (medical emergency) responseRotation opportunities exist across the following terms:UrologyENT / OphthalmologyCardiothoracic / VascularNeurosurgeryGeneral Surgery (Upper GI / Colorectal)OrthopaedicsRelief/ EveningsEvery effort will be made to accommodate candidate rotation preferences – taking into consideration current training requirements, previous experience, and demands of particular rotations. However, this is not a guarantee as it is dependent on the successful candidates.There will be an expectation of working in the management of acutely deteriorating patients within the hospital Code Blue team. The trainee will also be encouraged to attend general JMO teaching sessions and to be involved in the MD programme teaching.About YouYou will be an enthusiastic doctor who is committed to clinical care, education, and research.
