AIMS expert teams at our locations in Townsville, Darwin and Perth have access to world-class infrastructure, unique datasets, cutting-edge laboratories, and a fleet of modern research vessels.About this exciting opportunityOur Senior/Research Scientist Renewable Energy is responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and scientific vision in developing and undertaking research focused on the development and delivery of major research projects to inform the sustainable development of offshore renewable energy in Australia.You will lead and grow the research direction and opportunities in AIMS and enhance AIMS capability to provide robust, scientifically credible input to offshore renewable energy assessments for government and industry stakeholders along with building business and science partnerships, assessing opportunities, and responding to stakeholder needs through the provision of specialist knowledge and collaboration.About youYou will possess a PhD in marine science or other relevant discipline coupled with knowledge of marine and/or environmental principles and processes along with a research track record that has contributed to an understanding of the environmental influence of offshore renewable energy in marine ecosystems.Your demonstrated ability to think and act strategically with experience in identifying and developing opportunities in emerging research areas will assist you in developing and maintaining positive relationships with government, industry, Traditional Owners, universities, and other stakeholders.Your substantial knowledge and research experience in assessing the environmental, social, cultural, and/or political dimensions of offshore renewable energy developments would be highly advantageous.Apply now and join a world leading organisation with attractive working conditions. In line with our Enterprise Agreement , the successful candidate will be rewarded with:• AIMS AOF Level 6 to 7 salary ($130,855 to $167,524 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation• Full-time Permanent opportunity• Located in Perth (WA)• Flexible Work Arrangements considered (including tele-working where possible)• Generous leave provisions• Optional Fitness passportPlease note:1.
