The Office of the Valuer-General team within the Department of Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Research Officer to join their team permanently. The Valuer-General provides independent advice and transparency in the annual valuations assessment and issuing of statutory land valuations in accordance with the Land Valuation Act 2010.About us:The Queensland resources sector is changing. The Valuer-General drives transparent and independent technical leadership to support the modernisation of the Statutory Land Valuation Framework ensuring a culture of continuous improvement, capacity building and rigorous statutory compliance and assurance.Your experience and transferable skillsets will provide capacity for you to exercise judgement to effectively manage competing priorities while supporting the broader team. Working closely in a small team of 5, you'll review technical documents prepared by team members and provide support to the Principal Project Officer to develop and train team members in research, data analysis and preparation of material.Regular activities for you would include providing dedicated project support on high priority emergent business which could include but not limited to MECS, briefs, procedures and work instructions relating to technical land valuation matters.You'll work closely with colleagues and other levels of government, industry and nongovernment organisations to achieve policy outcomes and delivery on Government commitments.This position requires:• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.• The ability to manage multiple complex projects and business processes.Why join us?We are committed to being a workplace that focuses on people.
