An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Research Officer tojoin the Global Women and Newborn's Health team at Burnet!This key role will work on supporting the establishment of a newlyfunded Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) – AcceleratingResearch and Progress in Maternal And Newborn health: A Centre for ResearchExcellence (APRAN CRE). You will join a dynamic and experienced groupof researchers and practitioners, with a particular interest in maternaland newborn health research. You will also contribute to the team'spublic health research and knowledge synthesis activities, with a focus onimproving maternal and newborn health globally.Some of your duties will include:Setting up the ARPAN website to track projects and activitiesSupporting the development of research proposals, grant proposals,support ongoing projects and provide leadership in disseminationinitiativesSupporting coordination activities with collaborators, includingmanagement of communications (e.g. teleconferences) and in-countrymeetingsContributing to development and writing of reports to the funders,steering committee and the publicContributing to manuscript submission to journals, including ensuringrequirements for journal instructions to authors are metPreparing presentations and briefs as requiredRefer to the attached position description for full details. This is afull time, initial two-year contract with possibility of extension.Location is FlexibleWork from home or join us in the office, it's up to you! While ourhead office is based in Melbourne, we are open to fully remote working(based anywhere in Australia). You will also have flexibility to manageyour own working hours.Let's talk about youThe following criteria are essential requirements:An undergraduate qualification in science, health or other fieldrelevant to reproductive, sexual, maternal and/or child health in low- andmiddle-income countries A post graduate qualification in the health sciences, public health ora relevant fieldExpertise in one or more of the following: midwifery, maternal andnewborn health, health services improvement, or public healthPrevious experience with conducting health related research activitiesand working with teams in low to middle income countriesPrevious experience in international development, research ornot-for-profit organisationHigh level communications, stakeholder management skillsThe following experience is preferable but not essential:Experience working in a resource-constrained country or settingPeer-reviewed publications in a health fieldThe Burnet experience…We want you to have a successful and meaningful career at Burnet and arecommitted to providing a supportive workplace environment for all ourpeople.
