About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Officer to join our Operational Research Unit at the Queensland Police Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-based advice to support operational policing and key QPS projects and initiatives.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct high-quality research and analysis to inform policing practices and improve community safety.Develop effective evidence-based policing options and strategies to address complex operational issues.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support operational policing and key QPS projects and initiatives.Contribute to the planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of Whole of Government strategies and QPS strategic and operational plans.Monitor, evaluate, and review policies and practices across Government and within the QPS, and liaise and negotiate with those agencies to achieve an appropriate holistic response.Produce timely and accurate information to be used for the purpose of evaluating programs, providing a basis for planning and policy development.Consult and liaise effectively with other areas of the QPS and relevant Government departments and non-government organisations, as appropriate, and represent the QPS on inter-agency forums.Assist in the identification, development, and analysis of complex operational options and provide high-level advice on complex issues and findings.Prepare papers, submissions, briefs, and correspondence for senior management, the Minister, cabinet, and other diverse audiences.Prepare and present written reports, briefings, evaluations, and executive correspondence to senior management and key stakeholders.RequirementsPossession of a degree in Law, Criminology, or Criminal Justice from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications is mandatory.Experience with data analysis and visualisation is desirable.What We OfferWe offer a dynamic and supportive work environment, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a competitive remuneration package.
