Senior Research Fellow - Child Physical Activity, Health & Development Research (PLAYCE) Our Child Physical Activity, Health & Development team focuses on improving children's physical activity levels, health and development and are running several studies that look at increasing children's physical activity.
The Senior Research Fellow will manage projects and people, liaise with stakeholders, write grant applications and manage and undertake quantitative analysis of large data sets and lead the write up, publication, dissemination and translation of findings.
Some of your duties will also include: Present research findings at national and international conferences and other forums.
Communicate effectively with project participants, collaborators and the research team.
Prepare the dissemination of research outputs through reviews, journal articles, presentations, etc.
Mentor and provide training to junior research staff and students.
Monitor the allocation and direct the resources within the team to ensure the achievement of deliverables articulated within applicable Work Plans and identified projects, whilst maintaining a high level of service for business-as-usual activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have a Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, e.g.
public health, epidemiology, statistics, geography.
The key to your success will also be your demonstrated experience in the following: High level knowledge and experience with quantitative research methods including data linkage and longitudinal data analysis.
High level knowledge and experience in child physical activity (and built environment) health research.
Experience and proven ability in data collection, data management, data linkage and quantitative analyses of large data sets including high level of proficiency with data analysis software (e.g.
STATA, SAS, SPSS).
Experience working with external partners and stakeholders.
High level research project management and coordination skills.
Grant writing experience and success.
Proven ability in the preparation and publication of manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience supervising research staff and students.
Highly developed and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
