The Research and Evaluation (R&E) unit guides, coordinates, and undertakesresearch and evaluation activities across the QPS to develop new knowledge thatinforms the evidence base for improved organisational decision-making and servicedelivery.
We also provide research methodology advice and support to QPS members and the QPS Research Committee and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, universities, and research institutes.

The core capability requirements for this role are: Evaluate QPS programs and initiatives and consult with other areas of the QPS on evaluation practices, methods, and approaches.Monitor and review policing practices, strategies and initiatives at state, national and international levels and provide advice on their efficiency, effectiveness, and applicability to the QPS.Undertake research into external and internal issues affecting the QPS.Provide well-researched, soundly based, and defensible advice to senior management.Develop and maintain effective networks and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to deliver positive outcomes for the QPS.Provide assistance to other areas of the Service as required.Role Requirements: Qualification:
While there are no mandatory qualifications required for this role, possession of a relevant degree level qualification with a significant focus on research and/or evaluation would be considered favourably.Other:
Some inter and intrastate travel may be required for short periods.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
