Reporting to the Manager Research Development (Discovery), this position focuses on supporting academic researchers in crafting high-quality applications for external grant funding across ARC, NHMRC and MRFF schemes. Additionally, the role coordinates application development for prestigious research prizes and awards, necessitating close collaboration with academic and professional colleagues across Schools, the Science Research Office and professional service divisions to ensure proposal development of the highest quality. Your responsibilities will include:Contribute, and lead where appropriate, the effective delivery and maintenance of sustainable program of support for ARC schemes, specifically Discovery Projects and ARC Fellowships (including Laureate, Future, and Mid-Career Industry).Support the development of NHMRC and MRFF grants, including the synthesis and provision of advice on new schemes and opportunities as they emerge.Work across the SRO team and with colleagues in RIC to plan, develop, implement and review grant support activities to provide consistent and high-quality research development support to researchers.Develop and maintain a framework to identify and support applications for research prizes and awards.Who We Are Looking ForYou will possess a well-developed understanding of research grant administration and development, enabling you to provide timely guidance to academic colleagues based on funding guidelines. Your excellent administrative skills will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of high-volume, deadline-driven processes, while also maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of relevant research funding bodies and associated policies.You will also have:A degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training in the tertiary sector or in another complex organisation involving multiple funding arrangements.Demonstrable experience in research grant development and administration, including the interpretation of funding guidelines, costing and pricing of research, and ethical compliance.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
