Be part of a growing human imaging research initiative with access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment Enjoy a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and innovation Continuing (permanent) role | Level B or Level C appointment Why your role matters
Research Imaging NSW (RINSW) is a strategic initiative developed by the University of New South Wales in partnership with South East Sydney Local Health District.
It aims to provide researchers with state-of-the-art Human Imaging capabilities fostering increased collaboration between leading academic, research and health care institutions at the Randwick Health Innovation & Health Precinct, as well as nationally and internationally.
This UNSW core facility is seamlessly integrated into the Prince of Wales Hospital environment and currently features two 3.0T whole body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners, an MRI simulator, MR-compatible EEG systems for combined functional MRI & EEG recordings, eye-tracking systems, functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and an X-Ray lung ventilation scanner.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Senior Research Associate (Level B) or Senior Research Fellow (Level C).
The primary focus of this position is on the development, application, and translation of advanced MR signal processing methods (including AI/machine learning) and pipelines for image reconstruction, data modelling, and analysis.
Initially, these methods will be applied to research in neuroscience, clinical and translational neurological and neurocognitive diseases, and population health.
Current projects include multi-contrast, multi-parametric imaging – encompassing structural, functional, vascular, metabolic and quantitative imaging - to study various conditions such as the maturing and ageing brain, the impact of contact sports, vascular diseases, dementia, cancer and the use of combined EEG/fMRI for detection of focal epileptic lesions.
Over time, the focus of this position may broaden to include non-neuro applications and other imaging or signal-generating modalities beyond MR.
