We are seeking a motivated Senior Research Assistant to join our friendly team at the UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health. In this role, you will provide research support for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures health and wellbeing theme. This research area is aimed at transforming the health and wellbeing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, by working with Indigenous-lead service providers and Indigenous communities.
Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Drafting research documentation, including ethics, funding, and protocol documentation.Coordinating investigators and stakeholder organisations in relation to research activities.Preparing reports, graphs, figures, and presentations on research outputs.Assisting in the design of research studies.Undertaking literature searches and reviews.Providing support to the IFC central team and support Centre wide activities.At UQ, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are supported to fill their cultural responsibilities, with access to 8 additional days (pro-rata) of paid Cultural Leave annually. Completion of a degree level qualification in Public Health or similar; or completion of a Diploma with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Excellent practical research skills and experience in relevant research methodology or techniques required for this body of research.
Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples and a strong understanding of the challenges in Indigenous health.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Ability to work independently on routine procedures.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Well-organised, methodical and self-motivated.
Previous experience in a similar role would be considered favourably.
