Clinical/Medical Research (Healthcare & Medical) Reports to: Research and Development Manager

Contract type: Full time (or >0.7 FTE) permanent
About the role: Systematic Medicines goal is to identify therapeutic targets that could slow or reverse the damage that occurs to the genome with age.
We are looking for an experienced research assistant to join our team to support our current and future research projects.
Typical responsibilities will include: Support laboratory operationsEquipment maintenance & calibrationReagent orderingMycoplasma testingMaintain register of training recordsPerform assays to support research projects.
This varies over time, but examples are:DNA extractionPCRCell cultureWestern blotWe currently have a small team with 6 FTE planned by the end of the year.
This role will not have any direct reports with the current team size, but has the potential to grow into a lab manager role in the future.
We are located in the Jumar Bioincubator, Parkville, close to public transport.
We are fully funded by our parent company Leading Technology Group, with long term funding for our research projects.
We are open to full and part time arrangements, with a minimum of 4 days on site and 0.7 FTE.
