About the Role The Senior Research Advisor sits within the Transport Research team and plays a critical role in the ongoing coordination and delivery of DTP's research program.
There are two key parts of the role:
Firstly, the Senior Research Advisor works closely with the Manager, Transport Research, to identify DTP's strategic research needs and opportunities to address them through internal and external engagement and collaboration. This includes coordinating existing funded research partnerships and programs while developing new ones, and supporting research project management, planning, implementation, and reporting. Subject to capacity, the role will also undertake targeted in-house research.Secondly, the role is responsible for delivering mechanisms to allow better collection, collation and sharing of research findings and ideas. This includes maintaining and updating DTP's internal Research Hub and Research Catalogue, as well as coordinating internal and external workshops and seminars to develop new research topics and share outcomes.The Senior Research Adviser will be assisted in these tasks by the Research Advisor (VPS4). The Senior Research Adviser will assist the Manager Transport Research in managing and developing this role, including tasking, monitoring performance and ensuring their wellbeing and productivity.
The role offers an exceptional insight into work being undertaken across the breadth of DTP and opportunities for exposure via the wide outreach of the team. The Senior Research Advisor will also engage with research organisations and DTP's research partners to coordinate reporting, project agreements and payments. This includes preparing briefings for approval of projects and funding
