Senior Renewable Engineer (Solar and BESS)Job Title: Senior Renewable Engineer (Solar and BESS)About Us: Grid-Link is a forward-thinking engineering consultancy based in Melbourne, dedicated to energy transition. With a deep understanding of transmission networks, substation and transmission line utility scale energy storage, solar farms, wind farms, grid connection requirements and plant commissioning, we empower our clients to navigate the complexities of grid connection, renewable generation and transmission infrastructure development.Purpose of the Position: As part of our engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering renewable energy engineering services. You will support clients in all project development phases, including concept design, detailed design, technical due diligence, construction owner's engineering, commissioning, and operations and maintenance.Key Responsibilities:Deliver renewable energy engineering activities in collaboration with other teams.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Perform solar farm concept design and yield calculations using PVsyst.Act as the owner's engineer lead for solar and BESS projects.Coordinate engineering activities related to renewable energy projects.Review and develop technical specifications and performance guarantees.Support commissioning and compliance activities.Maintain close working relationships with grid connection and commissioning teams.Liaise with clients and participate in business development activities.Prepare proposals and contribute to project development and reporting.Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.Identify and resolve issues, seeking assistance as needed.Participate in internal review meetings and undertake other duties as directed.Qualifications:Degree in Electrical Engineering.5+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering.Engineers Australia (EA) and RPEQ membership or in the process of applying.Experience and Skills:Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar, wind, and BESS).Familiarity with the Australian national electricity network is an advantage.Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.Strong initiative and independent working capability.Personal Qualities:Commitment to professionalism, effective communication, and personal integrity.Ability to build sustainable relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to seek assistance when needed.Relationships:You will work under the supervision of the Head of Engineering, who will provide ongoing guidance and support for your professional and personal development.You will also mentor junior engineers within Grid-Link.What We Offer:Expertise Sharing: Join a vibrant team with over 100 years of combined experience in the power system industry, providing you with invaluable knowledge and exposure to unique projects and emerging industry trends.Supportive Environment: Experience a nurturing and career-enriching work environment that values work-life balance and employee well-being including work-from-home options.Professional Development: Provide funding and support for Engineers Australia membership, ensuring continuous growth in your career.Convenient Location: Melbourne CBD office.Competitive package: Market competitive salary benefits, relocation assistance, training and development program.Grid-Link is committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
