Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer, Housing, Local Government, Planning And Public Works

Your role within Policy, Performance and First Nations will support the department to improve performance and achieve better outcomes for the State through the setting up and delivery of the departments and Government's long-term strategic reform agenda and objectives.

You will be part of Regulatory Services which is responsible for administering legislation that impacts on providers of community housing, residential services, manufactured homes, and retirement villages.
As Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer you will undertake assessment and analysis of organisational and business specific policies, procedures, forms, registers and other evidence documents related to the registration, accreditation and compliance of organisations and the commission of offences under the associated Acts (Residential Services (Accreditation) Act 2002, Manufactured Homes (Residential Parks) Act 2003, Retirement Villages Act 1999, Housing Act 2003).
What you will be doing:

Lead and support Regulatory Compliance Officers and staff to conduct registration, accreditation, compliance and review assessments, complaints investigations and enforcement actions.
Exercise professional judgement and sound decision-making to analyse and assess organisational and business specific data, policies, procedures, forms, registers and other evidence documents related to the registration, accreditation and compliance of entities and offences under relevant Acts, to provide evidence-based and timely advice, options and recommendations.
Build, maintain and support collaborative relationships and partnerships with stakeholders including service provider and resident representative bodies and relevant government agencies to ensure an understanding of sector or market issues and developments and achieve effective regulatory outcomes.
Provide advice on current and emerging risks and issues, impacting regulated industries and consumers and contributing to the development of innovative, practical and forward-thinking responses to improve regulatory outcomes and reduce regulatory burden.
Contribute to the development, implementation and review of industry wide engagement and compliance strategies and plans.
Prepare and present a range high quality documentation which reflect sound assessment and evidence-based findings and provide timely advice, options and recommendations.
Coordinate and manage resources, workflows and activities to deliver/advise on priorities within agreed timelines and quality specifications
Support a positive team culture focused on collaboration, communication and cultural capability, including for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; working flexibly in a fast-paced and diverse team environment; embracing agile methodology and using a build, measure, learn approach which contributes to continuous improvement and supports change.
