Role Overview As the Senior Regulatory & Compliance Advisor within the Retail Transformation Team, you will be responsible for providing timely, sound, and strategic advice ensuring that AGL meets its regulatory compliance requirements, and you will also play a key part in supporting the delivery of a range of initiatives by providing regulatory advice and compliance expertise on all facets of the retail energy market.
The Regulatory, Compliance & Risk Transformation team is accountable for supporting AGL's Retail Transformation Program to transform the Customer Markets division of AGL and ensuring that this large program can deliver meaningful transformation at scale and pace whilst still aligning to AGL's best practice regulatory compliance and risk framework for Customer Markets.
What you'll be doing: Providing relevant, strategic and actionable regulatory advice to the business units operating in a highly complex regulatory and compliance environment, commercially practical advice, which highlights relevant regulatory risks to enable informed decision making by the business. Providing high quality and solutions orientated regulatory advice on initiatives and processes such as external communications, product development, campaign delivery, marketing collateral and sales processes. Partnering with the Retail Transformation program to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of new regulatory obligations. Providing informal mentoring and coaching for more junior team members, developing 'bench' strength across the Retail Transformation team. Promoting a positive compliance culture within Customer Markets and the Retail Transformation Program where issues and risks are openly raised and discussed, and learnings shared. What you'll bring: Experience in a regulatory or compliance role within the retail energy industry. Strong legal skills for interpreting regulatory impacts on business processes, systems and outcomes, and how they impact company activities. Commercial and strategic attitude toward ensuring regulatory compliance within the business. Ability to work collaboratively and partner with others across the business to develop and execute strategy and be able to present to internal stakeholders on regulatory compliance/interpretation issues. Demonstrated knowledge of regulations to help shape and implement future initiatives, and best practice developments in regulatory compliance.
