Located in the heart of the Northern Territory, Katherine offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness.The OpportunityThis highly autonomous role reports to the Director of Community Services and is responsible for leading the Regulatory Services team. Key duties include:Managing animal control, including overseeing impound facilities and leading public education programs.Enforcing local laws, addressing infringements, and representing the Council in legal matters.Supervising parking and litter control activities.Supporting team development through training and mentoring.Fostering community safety, compliance, and education while contributing to the Council's broader objectives.About YouYou are a skilled leader with a strong background in regulatory services and animal management.Essential requirements include:Extensive knowledge or skills in a similar role.Cert IV in Local Government Investigation (or ability to obtain).Demonstrated experience in regulatory enforcement and team leadership.Current Driver's Licence and Firearms Licence A or B (or ability to obtain).Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally.Desirable attributes include experience in local government and accreditation in dangerous animal management.To ApplyApplications in Word format should be forwarded to us by clicking the 'Apply' button below.
