Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client specialises in commercial property loss investigative services including damage failure analysis, condition assessments, scope of repair and restoration solutions to corporations, insurance companies, law firms, and government agencies both in Australia and internationally. Due to continued growth, they are seeking to add an additional Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage their Sydney-based projects in the insurance sector.
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the financial and contractual aspects of commercial repair and restoration projects following property damage claims, with a particular focus on weather-related damage.
Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget, to specification, within agreed upon timelines, and with minimal business disruptions. Working closely with loss adjusters, contractors, and other key stakeholders, you will provide expert advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:Manage cost analysis, tender documentation, contracts, and cost plans.Conduct site visits, perform site measurements, and maintain accurate recordings.Prepare project programs, cost plans, and detailed reports.Conduct tender analysis and provide recommendations.Attend meetings with clients and consultants acting as the Consultant QS.Audit builder claims for repairs and measure Bills of Quantities.Provide expert witness reports and attend court if required.Share your expertise to mentor junior staff.Engage in business development activities to expand opportunities.Minimum Requirements:A tertiary degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.Possess several years of senior-level experience in a Professional Quantity Surveying practice.Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and/or Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.Strong commercial, contractual, and financial acumen.Commercial construction background.Proficient in relevant software tools including MS Project, MS Excel, and estimating software e.g. Cost X.Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.Australian Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.Location: Sydney CBD office with flexible WFH.
