A06 Senior Quantity Surveyor/Value for Money Team LeaderSalary: $76.50 - $81.69 per hour + superContract Duration: Initial 6-month contract with possible extensionAre you experienced in quantity surveying, construction estimation or have a background in construction/engineering?This QLD Government Department is recruiting for an experienced leader to join the team on an initial 6-month contract. With extensive knowledge across building materials and evolving construction processes, this position will see you mentoring a team, managing client relationships, and extensive stakeholder engagement whilst overseeing Value for Money assessments.Your duties will include:Provide clear and accurate advice to homeowners and builders regarding the interpretation of Home Assessment Reports, flood data, risks, hazards, resilient building strategies, resilient building materials, and the RHF application process.Manage and oversee all Value for Money Assessments, including financial monitoring and timely reporting.Assist in developing and implementing required frameworks and procedures to ensure efficient and effective Value for Money delivery across the program.Proactively manage operational outcomes to ensure client satisfaction with targets, reporting, and budgets.Establish and maintain Senior Management relationships with client agencies and stakeholders to support program delivery improvements.Identify measures of continual improvement and output performance through value for money analysis.Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure effective communication across the program.Mentor customer-facing staff to enhance their skills and performance.About you:Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in managing escalated customer inquiries and complaints.High level of knowledge of building materials and their application.Proficient in mentoring and coaching.Highly desirable:Experience in Quantity Surveying or Construction Estimating.Ability to interpret plans and resilient building strategies.Experience working within the building industry (either in a trade-based, engineering, or design role).Apply:To be considered for this position, please apply below with your CV and cover letter in Microsoft Word format.
