Plan and direct activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished material or product.
Essential Responsibilities: 1) Manage a group of quality employees in a group office or working on a portion of a project.
2) Plan, conduct and direct research and/or development work on complex quality projects necessitating the origination and application of new and unique approaches.
3) Possess and apply advanced knowledge to the completion of projects.
4) Ensure product designed is procured and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements and within established budgets.
5) Make frequent decisions using principles and professional independent judgment.
6) Provide technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co-workers.
7) Provide leadership for quality assurance and quality control support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the product is designed, procured, and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
8) Provide leadership for new systems, development, proposals, implementation, procedures, and any related quality activity.
9) Analyze, evaluate, and plan methods of approach and organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems.
10) Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
Review project process and evaluate results.
11) Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
12) May specialize in particular area of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, research and development, and administrative application.
13) Provide technical consultation to lower level engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
14) Act as liaison with outside suppliers in establishing or modifying specifications for purchased items.
15) Devise and apply testing procedures for parts or sub-assemblies received from outside vendors.
16) Participate in the development, maintenance, and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.
17) Recommend corrective action to quality problems.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelors degree in engineering or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience: 8 years experience in area of specialization.
Lead Auditor/Auditor Certificate desired.
Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
Position requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph, adjudicated or PR within the last four (4) years.
Position may require travel.
