The Role in a Nutshell Gunnedah Shire Council is on the lookout for a friendly, proactive Senior Public Facilities Officer to join the team in Gunnedah, NSW.
In this role, you'll work closely with the Manager of Public Facilities and step into their shoes when needed, playing a key part in the smooth operation of our public spaces—from parks and sporting fields to swimming pools, the airport, and bushfire management. You'll help deliver essential services that make a real difference to the community.
What You'll Be Doing: Support management of Public Facilities Unit functionsAssist with developing and implementing strategies and plansHelp with asset management alongside staffContribute to business planning and resource managementPrepare operational plans and budgetsCoordinate and supervise capital expenditure projectsAssist with tenders, quotations, and Council reportsBuild relationships with facility user groupsManage leases/licenses and engage in community consultationUndertake Aerodrome Reporting Officer training and conduct inspectionsSupport bushfire management and continuous improvementPerform administrative tasks and maintain recordsRespond to customer requests in line with service standardsParticipate in Council's on-call rosterWho You Are We're looking for someone who truly understands the power of connection—a people person who can engage with others at all levels, both within the team and the broader community.
