The Queensland Police Service is intent on improving the psychological health and safety of all our officers, staff and volunteers.

We are seeking a Senior Psychosocial Risk Advisor who will play a key role in delivering proactive and preventative organisational level measures to improve workforce WHS outcomes.

Please refer to Role Profile for full details. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has embarked on a significant organisational transformation of its work health and safety functions. Central to these improvements is the significant uplift in the capacity and capability of the specialist workforce within the Safety Strategy Division.

Psychosocial Health and Safety is a new team within the Safety Strategy Division, established as a specialist WHS unit focused on strengthening QPS's preventative and organisational systems approaches to psychological health and safety.

Safety and risk management specialists are being sought with organisational psychology, human factors, or similar areas of expertise to work with our diverse workforce performing policing, emergency and rescue services, operational support, and corporate and business support functions.

You will be part of the inaugural specialist psychosocial health and safety team within a Division which includes other WHS practitioners in governance and safety operations. You will have opportunities to grow professionally while developing subject matter expertise within a premier frontline public safety agency.

You will be responsible for co-delivering psychosocial risk management activities and developing and implementing our framework for identifying, assessing, and managing psychosocial risk across our diverse policing, disaster, and emergency response operations.

A systems thinker, collaborator, and creative problem solver will be some of the key attributes of this role within our new specialist WHS unit.
