The Project  UGL and CPB Contractors have been awarded the early works contract to support Powerlink's delivery of CopperString 2032.
This $5 billion iconic project will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland's North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid.
The project scope includes: •               500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden •               330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry •               220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites.
This exciting project will commence construction in 2024 and we are currently looking for an experienced  Senior Project Support Services Manager  to join the team on the Copperstring Project.
This role will be leading the successful delivery of the project functions of Logistics, Materials, Camps, and Plant for the CopperString 2032 Project.
The role will ensure compliance with project management principles across financial, commercial, HR, safety, quality, environment and community targets.
What will a day in this role look like: •               Lead the coordination of logistics, materials, camps and plant functions, ensuring seamless integration with construction schedules.
•               Monitor and manage project compliance across financial, commercial HR, safety, quality, environment and community aspects, mitigating risks and resolving issues proactively.
•               Guide and support cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring that all support services align with project goals and standards.
•               Ensure all project activities adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices, maintaining high standards of safety.
•               Oversee the effective allocation and utilisation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximise project performance and cost-effectiveness.
•               Manage anticipated release dates for access to work location and design information.
•               Facilitate any innovation concepts that can improve the project for all stakeholders.
•               Connect with local communities and suppliers to maximise local business involvement in the project.
•               Planning, executing and finalising projects for delivery to our clients.
•               Managing the project teams to accurately and timely deliver projects according to schedule, budget and scope.
•               Overseeing the quality control throughout the project life cycle and ensuring we meet the projects objectives and deliverables •               Focusing on acquiring resources and coordinating efforts of team members, ensuring that our clients' needs are delivered in a safe, timely and efficient manner whilst ensuring a safe and effective operation of the project through sound communication, promotion of Safety and Quality Assurance, technical assistance and sound business practices such as commercial, compliance, procurement, human resources and financials.

What are we looking for you to bring to the team: •               You will have extensive Project Management experience working within the utilities infrastructure sectors focusing on power High-Voltage Transmission Line and substation projects.
•               You will hold relevant project management accreditation equivalent to Australian Institute Project Management (AIPM), PMBOK, Diploma, engineering, PMP or equivalent.
•               You will have a strong understanding and knowledge of construction principles in multi-discipline contracting environment.
•               You will have a high level of business and commercial acumen backed by a sound ability to create, read, and interpret budgets, financial statements and analyse variance reports.
•               10-15 years of relevant project management experience or equivalent.
•               Management of multidisciplinary projects and project teams.
•               Financial and commercial management including cost reduction and meeting budgets.
