This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a significant project, providing support to uplift and align the program with flood resilience works. What you'll do:
As a Senior Project Support Officer, you will play an integral role in supporting the Project Manager in uplifting and aligning the Flood Resilience Program with identified works. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve monitoring project expenditure, preparing financial reports, maintaining effective communication across various departments and agencies, and providing high-level research and analysis. You will also assist with procurement processes when necessary. Your ability to work collaboratively within project teams will be crucial in developing programs that support the strategic direction of the department.
Support the development of key activities for the Program including strategic planning, reporting and risk management
Monitor and administer budgeted project expenditure, prepare financial reports showing actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a monthly basis
Maintain effective liaison, communication and collaboration across the division, department and other government agencies
Regularly liaise with stakeholder groups to ensure services managed by the team meet their needs
Prepare Ministerial responses, reports and briefing materials on a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management issues relating to the Program
Support the provision of high level research, analysis, advice, reports, submissions and identify and provide support to progress strategic issues
Assist with procurement of technical consultants where required
Participate in project teams in the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures that support the strategic direction of the department

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Project Support Officer role will bring a wealth of experience in governance and risk management, demonstrating a high standard of practice. You will be highly organised, able to handle competing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Your adaptability and problem-solving skills will be key in this role, as well as your ability to build and sustain relationships for collaborative outcomes. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams is essential, with Systems Analysis Program (SAP) being highly regarded. Experience in communications and engagement activities relating to infrastructure projects will also be beneficial.
