Who we are?
The Reform and Improvement Office is a branch within the Strategy and Performance Office. Our work is complex, high-profile, and fast-paced, delivering key program management, reform and innovation, and governance and assurance outcomes for the AFP. We play a critical role in partnering with internal and external entities to support organisational programs and priorities, amass strategic insights, and drive enterprise reform and innovation to position the AFP as an employer of choice.
As a Senior Project Officer, your role will be to support the effective delivery of investment by assuring programs and projects align to the PMF and deliver on agreed outcomes. You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
We are looking for collaborative, innovative and dynamic professionals to fill roles across the following areas:
Enterprise Program Management Office (ePMO): The ePMO is responsible for the provision of specialist program management expertise to support the successful delivery of high priority enterprise and inter-agency programs. The ePMO's key functions include the collaborative development of key strategic program management documents as well as the best practice administration support through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Integrated Portfolio Office (IPO): The IPO provides portfolio-level support, guidance, reporting and assurance to support the successful delivery of programs and projects included in the AFP capability Investment Plan in accordance with the AFP's Program and Project Management Framework (PMF).
As the Senior Project Officer, your key responsibilities include:
Contribute to new challenges that show adaptability, responsiveness, initiative and resilience working in a dynamic, fast-paced and complex environment.
Communicate with influence with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Develop and deliver training sessions and communication strategies.
Develop team members and fulfill a guiding, mentoring and advisory role.
Help build, retain and sustain relationships by engaging confidently and concisely with internal and external stakeholders that foster the development of deep, mutually beneficial partnerships.
You must be an Australian Citizen.
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Demonstrated over 12 months experience in Program or Project delivery or in a Program Management Office.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills to liaise with diverse stakeholder groups.
Strong written communication skills, including assistance with preparation of briefs and infographic-led reports and presentations.
This role is located in Canberra, and applicants are expected to be based in the ACT Region.
