If so, we are looking for a person just like you to join our team of enthusiastic Rangers.
The purpose of this position is to oversee the delivery (project manager) of the Northern Hairy Nosed wombat recovery project in South West Queensland. The project is aimed at successfully reintroducing this critically endangered species into areas of its former habitat range.
The position will be responsible for leading and coordinating most of the project's dimensions including establishing project governance, project team leadership, formulating species research, translocation and monitoring techniques, monitoring and reporting on contract, budget and project delivery and milestones, maintaining and negotiating sponsorship and interested party relations and coordinating and/or delivering on-ground project/park activities.
This position is based in Toowoomba but may require travel to other locations from time to time, including overnight stays.
In this role you will: Plan, deliver and report on the QPWS's Northern Hairy Nosed Wombat recovery project.Ensure work programs support QPWS strategic outcomes and provide feedback and input into operational policies and procedures, exploring opportunities for continuous improvement.Financial management of the projects, including undertaking procurement and purchasing activities, preparation of budget submissions, financial monitoring and reporting.Prepare and coordinate, review and progress briefing notes, project plans, reports, correspondence and submissions.Ensure the accurate and timely input of information into internal and external reporting systems.Research and analyse information, and provide recommendations and advice to a range of internal (including Senior Management) and external stakeholders.Proactively build, sustain, establish and maintain effective and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders as required, including QPWS regions and branch staff, other government agencies, First Nations peoples, and special interest groups.Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
