Where you'll be working
Reporting to the Chief Health Officer, Health Protection NSW is responsible for surveillance and public health response in NSW including monitoring the epidemiology of notifiable infectious disease and taking appropriate action to prevent, control and minimize the impact of these diseases.
It also provides public health advice and response to environmental issues affecting human health.

About the Role
The Senior Project Officer is a key position in Health Protection NSW.
The position is responsible for the development, review and evaluation of policies, protocols, guidelines, and resources in consultation with relevant advisory committees, networks and other stakeholders.
The position also assists with advice such as cold chain breaches, vaccine administration errors, re-vaccination advice and monitoring adverse events following immunisation.

Selection Criteria Extensive experience in immunisation programs and/or extensive experience in a health or public policy field.
Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues in immunisation.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills including a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, and other key stakeholders.
Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately to achieve business focused solutions.
Demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels within a high-volume dynamic work environment.
Demonstrated ability to act as an appropriate and effective role model and promote a culture and supporting practices that reflect the organisational values through demonstrated behaviours and interactions with stakeholders and colleagues.
An understanding of health program design, delivery and evaluation.
