About the Role: Here's your chance to step into a role where your expertise will contribute to identifying and assessing key water projects within the Gulf and surrounding catchments in the North West Queensland Region. As a key member of our dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that values diversity and shared success. Working with the high-profile Regional Water Assessment Program, you will be required to use your skills across a range of disciplines to provide high quality advice on water infrastructure matters and engage directly with regional stakeholders.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Provide support to the delivery of Regional Water Assessment projects by contributing to project management planning, delivery of monthly project report, maintaining project risks and issues registers, and supporting the governance required to meet project objectives in a timely manner.
• Undertake and support stakeholder consultation and engagement for large-scale bulk water infrastructure and non-infrastructure proposals undertaken by the Department and its partners/stakeholders including providing secretariat functions.
• Undertake research and analysis of urban, agricultural and industrial water policy and associated issues to inform best practice stewardship and development of the state's finite resources.
• Prepare advice on a range of strategic urban, agricultural and industrial water policy, regulatory and development issues and identify mechanisms for improvement to optimise sustainable development outcomes that achieve economic benefits for regional Queensland.
• Contribute to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
• Analyse technical reports and liaise with consultants to ensure procured products are consistent with departmental expectations and requirements.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Strong research and project management skills, with high attention to detail.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good governance and secretariat skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
