About the Opportunity There is currently one (1) fixed-term (24 month) full-time position with the possibility of extension and/or permanency available for immediate filling.
It's an exciting time to join DPIRD's Regional Business Development directorate working with the Northern Agricultural Development team, which is responsible for, among other projects, the Ord Expansion project.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer to support the Project Manager, Ord Agreements, in engaging with stakeholders and delivering on milestone projects associated with the Ord River Irrigation Area (ORIA) Strategy 2024-34 and the Ord Expansion initiatives.
In addition, you will assist with the development of new projects to support regional development and investment in the state's north while helping to prepare reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence.
Key Responsibilities: A pertinent tertiary qualification is desirable for this role but not critical.
Your knowledge, experience, capacity and team-fit are the primary focus.Knowledge of agricultural, pastoral and/or horticultural production processes would be highly regarded but not essential.Sound knowledge of project management principles is required.Strong professional writing skills are desirable.The ability to establish rapport and work well with stakeholders of diverse cultural backgrounds is critical.The position is based in Perth, and travel to other project sites will be required on occasion.While we're looking to fill the role on a full-time basis, part-time will be considered.If you work well in a team and have a desire to contribute to supporting the economic prosperity, liveability and sustainability of WA's North, this may be the role for you.
