Senior Project Officer

DFP Perth are seeking a Senior Project Officer to engage in a temporary contract for 3-6 months with our State Government client. Start Date: Immediate start – 3–6-month contract

Location: Perth CBD

Hours per week: 37.5 hours per week

Salary Range: 77-78 p/h + super

Our client is Western Australia's lead agency for economic development, international trade and investment, and tourism. It also leads the promotion and development of the defence, international education, science and innovation sectors in Western Australia.

Role Responsibilities:Manages complex projects to respond to state development priorities, including development of Strategic Industrial Areas, state significant infrastructure projects or departmental strategic projects.Manages land use planning and economic development projects for Strategic Industrial Areas including the identification of infrastructure requirements.Contributes to the development of scopes of work for project staff, oversees workloads and quality of work; and contributes to mentoring, coaching and recruitment of staff.Advises and assists proponents with project development; coordination of government approvals; and other technical matters that impact on project delivery or objectives.Consults and influences within the department, across government, and with industry, community and other stakeholders to support project development and delivery.Represents the State and participates in negotiations and discussions with industry representatives, government agencies, community and other stakeholders.Analyses and researches project proposals; assesses the broader consequences of departmental decisions and makes recommendations; undertakes investigations to identify infrastructure and other assistance required to support proponents' projects.Prepares draft Ministerial, speech notes, briefing notes, letters and contentious issues papers.Key Skills and Experience Required:Experience in project management of, or significant components of, complex industry development programs and projects.Experience in infrastructure and writing for government, preferred but not essential.Demonstrates project management and success in delivering on projects objectives, across several concurrent projects.Presents messages in a clear and concise manner and articulates key points confidently to negotiate with, or influence others.Writes fluently and persuasively in a range of styles and formats.Interviews will commence immediately, so please apply online today or contact Natalie at DFP Recruitment on 03 8545 7510.
