Program Kaartdijin has been established to develop a functionally fit, technologically robust solution to replace the current School Information System (SISClassic) and include additional information capture and reportability. The Program focuses on providing short term solutions as well as a longer-term solution that meets the operational needs of schools and the reporting and management needs of the Department at large. The Program vision is to provide a contemporary administrative and finance solution connecting people, processes and systems for school communities now and into the future.
The new Kaartdijin Solution will replace the SISClassic suite of applications currently used in 800+ schools throughout Western Australia. The Department has contracted TechnologyOne as the provider of the core finance functionalities and Compass Education as the provider of the billing, student administration and school administration functionalities for schools.

Program Kaartdijin is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Officer to join their dynamic team.
As a member of the schools' team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Kaartdijin solution is ready for schools to use. You will provide specialist advice to prepare the solution for deployment and inform the implementation of the solution to schools. This includes providing advice to the training and deployment workstreams to inform their planning and work artefacts, as well as providing support to schools and department business units.
In this role, you will conduct in-depth investigations and analyses of complex issues, policies, and practices associated with the configuration of the solution, and apply these to inform training and deployment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
The ideal candidate will apply their extensive knowledge of school processes, including enrolment, attendance, pastoral care, teacher absence and timetabling, and provide recommendations. applying their experience across various school contexts. A comprehensive understanding of the enrolment policies and processes, attendance policies and processes, DOE systems, and timetabling would be advantageous.
It is important within this role to maintain a focus on customer service delivery and continuous improvement of services.

Demonstrated substantial knowledge of student administration processes, related legislation, policies and the best practices for the provision and support of these, and proven ability to apply that knowledge effectively.
Demonstrated highly developed project management skills, including management of timelines and physical and financial resources.
Demonstrated highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify problems and provide overviews and strategies to address them.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement
complete the Department's training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
complete the Department's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement
complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
